Candice Ericks

Candice is a government relations professional specializing in Florida state and local government relations.  Candice began her lobbying career in 1998 when she joined Ericks Consultants, Inc. She helped develop and expand the firm into a successful, multi-regional operation with a diverse book of clients. Over the course of the past two decades, Candice has developed an extensive network of contacts and relationships within the governmental, non-profit, and business communities, and her hands-on approach within the governmental relations world has enabled her to develop a broad expertise in numerous subject areas.

Candice is active in many organizations within the local community and throughout the state. She is a longtime board member of the Florida Association of Professional Lobbyists (FAPL), an organization committed to establishing and maintaining high standards for the lobbying profession. She also works actively with the Florida Association of Counties, the Florida League of Cities and the Florida Association for Intergovernmental Relations.

During the 2016 Legislative Session, Candice was the first recipient of the Theresa Lintz Memorial Award from the Florida Association for Intergovernmental Relations. This award is significant in that it represents excellence in legislative advocacy on behalf of local governments in Florida and exemplary commitment to consensus building, professionalism and high ethical standards to better serve our local communities.

Candice volunteers her time in advocacy committees and community events for the Broward League of Cities membership. Most recently she is volunteering her expertise on behalf of Handy, Inc. to assist in their efforts in Tallahassee. A 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, Handy’s stated mission is to “embrace, educate and empower vulnerable youth” in order “to achieve positive, lasting change for youth by providing life skills, education, and a supportive community.”

Candice is a member of the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and participates on the Chamber’s Governmental Relations Committee. She is a former board member of ChildNet, a not-for-profit organization working to protect Broward and Palm Beach County’s abused, neglected and abandoned children. She is also a board member of Broward Days, an independent, non-profit and non-partisan group of people advocating for diverse needs and concerns of Broward County.

Candice is a member of Leadership Broward’s Class of XXV. She was featured by Gold Coast Magazine as one of Broward County’s leading young professionals “40 under 40” who were recognized for their professional and civic involvement. Candice has been a staunch advocate for Arts and Culture at the state level; helping to preserve and increase funding for several cultural grant programs. Ultimately, Candice takes every opportunity to work with businesses and local governments to help make Broward County a better place to live.

Candice graduated with a Public Relations degree from Florida State University in 1995, where she first began to work in Tallahassee politics as an intern for Senator Dudley. Prior to Ericks Consultants, Candice began her professional career in Manhattan, where she worked in corporate sales specializing in outdoor advertising and temporary staffing. For the last 20 years she has worked diligently to grow her family’s governmental consulting business, Ericks Consultants, Inc. She is extremely proud of her new venture with TSE Consulting, the governmental relations arm of the Tripp Scott Law Firm.

Candice is also a certified Bikram Yoga instructor. She married her husband, Stuart Maslanik, in 2011 and she resides in Fort Lauderdale.
